How long will it last?
Permanent makeup is, as the name suggests, permanent, since pigment is applied cannot be washed off and remains perfectly shaped. It varies from person to person due to skin type, diet, genetics and environmental factors. Fading will occur as with any form of tattoo and it is recommended you have a colour boost every 12-18 months to ensure your makeup remains fresh and perfectly applied.
Does it hurt?
The procedure is described as slightly uncomfortable by some and pain free to others, everyone has a different pain threshold but for most people they are surprised at how little pain there is, others have been known to fall asleep! Clients are never rushed and appointments are booked with this in mind so i can give each individual enough time.
Is Permanent makeup safe?
Yes, all my pigments are medical grade and hypo allergenic, I pride myself in following strict hygiene standards, all needles are pre sterilised and sealed and disposed of after each client, and all equipment is cleaned to the highest standard with specialised hygienic wipes. A patch test is carried out at least 12 hrs before any treatment to ensure there will be no allergic reactions. My premises have been inspected and a certificate issued by the local council environmental health department.
How long does the procedure take?
Procedures take between 1 1/2 – 2 hrs, this includes drawing on time for the initial procedure where the eyebrows or lips will be drawn on and the procedure will not be started until myself and the client are happy with the shape and style. I always say to allow yourself 2.5 hrs in total for your first appointment and 90 mins for the second, although most treatments are completed before this.
Will my eyebrows be really dark?
Immediately after the procedure your eyebrows will be 70% darker and 25% thicker than when healed, this is perfectly natural and they will fade and shrink in the first week of the healing process. I always start off on the first appointment with a lighter colour as it is easier to add a darker colour in the second treatment than to take it away. Once your makeup is healed it will look perfectly natural
How log will it take to heal?
Again everyone is different but it takes around a week for the brows and lips to scab and then shed and around 5 days for eyeliner. After this the pigment works with the pigment in our own skin to give the true colour.
How many treatments will I need?
Eyebrow procedures are done over two treatments which are 6 weeks apart. Lips are the same, unless you want a really dark colour in which case you can have a third treatment. Eyeliner can take 3 treatments again if you want it thick or dark. This can be discussed with me at the consultation. After your initial treatments i reckoned you come back 18-24 months later for a colour boost to ensure your makeup is crisp and fresh.
Is there anyone that cant have a permanent makeup treatment?
We will carry out a full consultation and patch test and a medical questionnaire will be carried out. Whilst there are some cases in which people are not suitable for permanent makeup it is very uncommon. Pregnant women and those breastfeeding are advised to avoid permanent makeup treatments, due to hormonal changes in the body.
Can I drink alcohol?
It is recommended you avoid alcohol the night before and on the day of the treatment.
What if i am allergic to the pigment?
A patch test is carried out at least 12 hrs to treatment to ensure this, all pigments are hypo allergenic.

All pigments are made of natural minerals and are selected for the safe, non toxic, hypoallergenic properties.

Then this is the perfect treatment for you! this is very common and one of the main reasons ladies choose permanent makeup
Should I bring anything with me to the treatment?
If you have a favourite colour lipstick you would like to match or an eyebrow pencil you use all the time it would be helpful if you could bring it so we can match the colour but this is not essential.
Should I wax or Pluck my eyebrows prior to treatment?
No, if you are going to then I recommend you do this a week before your treatment. your eyebrows will be shaped by myself during the treatment. Waxing/Plucking prior to treatment can result in open pores and can cause irritation and in severe cases infection.
Will you shave off all my eyebrows?
NO, the procedure is used to enhance your natural shape and style.
I suffer with cold sores (Herpes Simplex) can I still have a lip treatment?
Although permanent makeup does not cause cold sores a known history means your body carries the virus. Due to the procedure it can sometimes awaken the virus which lies dormant. Although this does not stop you having a procedure I recommend you apply an antiviral cream such as zovirax 5 days prior to and 5 days after treatment, or take any medication you may have, this will minimise any risk.
What if i have a cold sore on the day of the treatment?
If you have an active cold sore a lip procedure cannot be carried out and it is recommended you postpone your treatment for 14 days until it is completely healed.
I have collagen lip fillers/botox injections, can I still have a Permanent Makeup treatment?
Yes, however we recommend you wait at least 6 weeks after to ensure it is fully healed, ideally it would be best to have your permanent makeup treatment first.
Should I wear makeup to my appointment?
Some ladies feel uncomfortable wearing no makeup, so if you want to wear make up for the journey this is fine but it will be removed prior to any treatment being carried out.
Can I wear makeup after my treatment?
It is advised you avoid any cream or makeup products for the first 7 days after your treatment, this will help to avoid infection.
I have recently had my eyelashes tinted or permed can I still have a Eyelash enhancement or eyeliner treatment?
Yes, as long as it is carried out at least a week before treatment or 2 weeks after, again to avoid infection.
I suffer with sensitive eyes, would this be a problem?
It is perfectly normal for eyes to water or blink excessively during treatment, however clients tend to relax more into the treatment as they get used to it.
Will my eyes swell after eyelash enhancement or eyeliner treatment?
Not always but some clients do, and if so it should only last 24 hrs, ice packs will help to minimise this.
Are there any products I can use to help with the healing?
You will be given a sterile Vitamin A&E cream sachet which you should apply twice daily (eyebrows and lip treatments only) this will help with the healing process. For eyeliner and Eyelash enhancement treatments the area should be cleansed gently with warm water and a clean cotton bud.
Should I avoid anything after the treatment?
You should avoid sunbeds, saunas, steam rooms and swimming for the first 7 days after a treatment, full aftercare will be given to you on the day of your procedure. If you are planning a sunshine holiday you should have the treatment at least 14 days prior to your departure.
Will my eyebrows be sore when they are healing?
They will be slightly tender immediately after the treatment and as they heal they can become slightly itchy, this is perfectly normal and the cream you are given will help this.
Will my lips be sore after a treatment?
Again they will be slightly tender and can be slightly swollen, this is perfectly normal and they should go down after a couple of hours, over the next few days they will feel dry and flaky. The colour selected will be darker and more intense than when fully healed.
Do I need to avoid any foods after a lip procedure?
No, however if is advised you may wish to avoid salty or highly spiced foods, again this is not a must but a recommendation.
Can I have an MRI scan after a procedure?
Yes, however is advisable to tell the practitioner prior to the scan. This will not effect you having the scan but it is information they will need to know.
Can I have laser hair removal after the treatment?
Laser hair removal can fade and change the shape of your lip or brow procedure. If you are having hair removed in that area advise your laser technician and they can act accordingly to accommodate for this.
