How to measure and shape the perfect eyebrows
So, we all want a perfect set of symmetrical eyebrows, to perfectly enhance our eyes and give a youthful, natural look. Many people fail to appreciate the significance of having well groomed brows. But how do you get them? And how do you draw them on perfectly every time, assuming of course you don’t have them permanently enhanced?
Every technician should measure and draw your eyebrows on and check you are happy with the shape before they start your procedure. Here is a quick guide to make sure they are perfect every time.
Most technicians, like myself use measuring calipers, as seen in pic. Don’t worry, they are not as scary as they look!! This ensures your eyebrows are perfectly matched and in the right place before the procedure begins.
First, with the calipers, or if you are doing this without you can use a thin makeup brush, hold this at the corner of your nose and in a straight line up to the inner corner of your eye, the line is supposed to be close to the bridge of your nose and should not go beyond, this is where your eyebrow should start. Take an eyebrow pencil and mark this part.
And where should the perfect arch be?
The arch of the brow is the most flattering when it’s above the centre of your eye. The arch shouldn’t be too near the middle or end as this will give the impression of boredom or surprise. If you have a long, oval face you can take this out slightly to give a little width and add shape to your face.
Next, look straight ahead in the mirror and hold the calipers or brush from the side of your nose, up through the centre of your pupil to your eyebrow, then mark, this should be the highest point of the arch.
Lastly, where should the perfect eyebrow end?
Take your caliper, or brush and measure a line from the corner of your nose to the outer corner of your eye, that is where your eyebrow should end.
Now you have your points you can draw your eyebrows on with ease. Once they are drawn on you can use the caliper to check they are the same width too.
Hope this helps! And remember, eyebrows should be sisters not twins, but not far distant cousins!!
