Hi, I’d like to introduce myself…

Joanne Walton
Permanent Makeup Specialist
Based in Sussex

Hi, I’m Joanne, I am a fully qualified, licensed and insured Permanent Makeup Specialist based in Crawley, West Sussex.

Back in 2005 I enrolled on a course covering waxing, manicure, pedicure and gel nails. I then went on to cover Swedish massage, Indian head massage and then specialised in Sports massage. I also offered my services at Revitalise, a charity which provides respite care holidays for disabled people and their carers.  I attained so much personal fulfillment watching these people gain self confidence and satisfaction from the treatments I provided.  Due to spinal surgery and allergies to certain products I used I had to sadly give this up, and pursue another career, but always maintained a passion and interest in the beauty industry.

I became inspired after meeting Katy Jobbins, one of the UK’s leading industry experts, founder and head trainer at the Permanent Makeup training academy, and quickly realised I wanted to become a specialist myself so I could offer these services in my local area. I researched training companies but felt if I wanted to offer my clients the best service I would benefit myself from the exclusive 1-2-1 training Katy offered.

Having been a shift-worker myself I know that when you get up at 4am the last thing on your mind is penciling in your eyebrows, or whilst working a night-shift there is nothing worse than rubbing your eyes when tired and finding your eyeliner is now smudged  giving you a most unattractive “panda eye” look.

I care passionately about my clients, whatever their reason for wanting permanent makeup, whether it be an allergy to conventional make up, sparse eyebrows due to over plucking, those that have conditions such as Parkinson’s which makes the application of makeup challenging, or those that have lost hair due to alopecia or chemotherapy treatments, those that love to swim, sweat at the gym, or ladies like myself that just want to look their best at all times.

With this in mind consultations are tailored specifically for each individual client’s needs and desires. Clients are not booked back to back in order to allow me the time to create a subtle beautiful look that will last for years to come and the confidence changes it will bring. I am so glad I have learnt these skills, and was so thrilled with the results of my own Permanent Makeup I knew it was something I had to share with others so they could feel confident and look their best at all times.

Here’s a little about my training and experience in the industry…

I Use Only the Highest Quality Permanent Makeup Pigments on All My Clients…

All the colour pigments that I use have been specifically formulated through years of research and development using only the finest grades of iron oxides and lakes, the same ingredients found in make-up giants

Lancome, Estee Lauder, Shiseido, Truco, Guerlain, MAC, Channel and Gucci

cosmetic products. All the pigments I use are medical grade and from the leading suppliers to the medical profession worldwide. All my pigments are hypoallergenic and are also designed for concealing imperfections on burns, scars, cancer, vitiligo, and cleft pallet patients. They have supreme colour concentration meaning less touch ups over the years.

All of my lip and eye pigments are fashioned after the top cosmetic manufacturer colours which remain true over the years. All the pigment bottles are sterile, heat sealed and tamper proof for your protection. Each one is encoded with lot numbers and expiration dates.

All pigment has a micron count of between 6 & 8 to the colour last in the skin. I carry the widest variety of natural permanent makeup colours which I custom blend for Blondes, Brunettes, Red Heads & Women with Silver hair. I can also order designer colours for those wanting more dramatic colour results.

Pigment Testing

All pigments are produced in keeping with the highest standards for purity and have been tested to conform to their respective specifications for use in Micropigmentation procedures as applicable.

Colourants tested according to these resolutions provide a high level of safety and a minimum health risk for our customers. All pigments have completed the testing of over 93 different substances and compounds as it relates to Certification within the EU. The testing includes carcinogenic compounds, colourants and metals causing allergies and irritations of the skin.

Bespoke shades can be ordered specifically.

Material data sheets for all my pigment brands can be provided on request.

Your Consultation & Your New Look Designs

Your Consultation

I like to meet with my clients for a 15-20 min chat, this gives us an opportunity to get to know each other, and for me to find out why you would like permanent makeup, your expectations, and see what you are looking for in terms of shape and colour to make sure you are 100% happy and comfortable.

During the consultation, you will have the chance to ask me any questions you may have about the treatment to ensure you are completely at ease for when you come in.

I will also carry out a simple patch test.

Procedure & Anti-Allergy Patch Test

Each treatment takes two sessions to complete. After your first session, your permanent makeup will look much darker and bolder for up to 5 days. This is completely normal and the colour will soften up to 70% and shrink by 25%  to give a soft natural look.

After 6 weeks the colour will have settled in with your own skin tone and pigment and you can decide if you want to go darker, tweak the shape slightly or just have a colour boost to ensure you get longevity from your procedure.

Patch Test

All of the pigments I use are hypoallergenic, but I carry out a simple patch test during the consultation.  It is important to carry this out  so I can ensure you are not allergic to any of the products I will be using during your treatment

This consists of a small prick to the finger, behind the ear or on your arm, then a tiny amount of pigment placed there.

A patch test must be carried out at least 12 hrs before a treatment. Providing you have no reaction after 12 hours, you can go on to have your treatment.
If you are traveling, or live far away then I can post a patch test and instructions for to you to perform at home. It is also possible to chat via Face-Time should you wish.
